countdown to 10,000

Recently I've started carrying a sketchbook with me everywhere I go. The saying goes something like -"every artist has 10,000 bad drawings in them before you get to the good ones." I'm guessing I have about 9,500 to go before I get to the good ones, lol.

Animation & Horror flicks

Animation and Horror movies have always fascinated me since I was a child. I Watched Paranorman this weekend and there's something about stop motion animation that always brings back that "magic" feeling that the old traditional hand drawn features used to leave with me. Inspired me to sketch my own zombie.

Unfinished business...

It's hard to believe how time flies. I was only 18 when I did these. These unfinished works (19x24) took me about 6-8 hours each. Looking back at them I now notice a vast room for improvement throughout. Although they are not finished, I'll never know if at that age I would have been able to push the contrast within the tones and values the way I can envision them now. Everyone will always be picky with their own work, but all you can do is keep going and hope you continually progress.
I miss my days in life drawing class.
